Biochar Workshop Tamworth, Australia

Don Coyne

Dear Group,
Many of you know Stephen Joseph, one of the most knowledgeable people working in the field of biochar since 1975. He will be delivering a workshop next month in Tamworth on behalf of ANZBIG. Theory mornings will be held at the Sustainable Training Centre of Tamworth's Agriculture Institute and practical afternoons at a recently approved biochar fertiliser facility in Appleby, just out of Tamworth called Carbon Powered Mineral Technology & Products
Stephen will also be demonstrating a new mobile retort called the Minimak, Tokamak & Tokamax that he has designed and is being manufactured in Sydney under the brand name "Terrapee". It comes as a kit of parts or fully welded and is an enclosed, safe to operate kiln with clean air emissions. In the long run it will also make wood vinegar. (Images attached)

He will also run through a number of topics in Agriculture including the way to treat your biochar so you're getting best bang for buck. Also learn and discuss how to commercialise a biochar business.

This should be a great workshop for land managers to learn how to turn their woody waste into biochar and apply it on their own land or how to get into the industry. Limited places do apply and registrations close on Friday, April 2. If you would like to register, please visit our events page here Events | ANZBIG

Best Chars,

Don Coyne
